How To Vote VEP

How To Vote for the VEP

Voting rules for the Senate have changed – this federal election you’ll have new ways to decide your preferences on your Senate ballot paper.

You need to either:

  • number at least six boxes above the line for the parties or groups of your choice, or
  • number at least 12 boxes below the line for individual candidates of your choice.

To vote for the VEP we suggest that you place the number '1' in the box above the thick black line in the column allocated to the Voluntary Euthanasia Party.

In NSW - Group K

In South Australia - Group V

In Victoria - Group AD

Once you have written number '1' for the VEP you are free to choose other parties (at least another five) numbering them 2 - 6 in the order of YOUR choice.

There is no need to number any boxes below the black line, unless you choose the alternative method, which is to number at least 12 boxes below the line for individual candidates of your choice.

Only choose one method - Either above the line OR below the line.
